About MNNIT

Motilal Nehru National Institute Of Technology (MNNIT), Allahabad, formerly known as Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College (MNREC), is one of India’s premier educational institutes, with a total commitment to quality and excellence in academics.

It was established in 1961, as a joint enterprise of the Govt. of India and the Govt. of U.P. However, since June 26 th, 2002, MNREC officially was deemed a university, and is now known as Motilal Nehru National Institute of technology. 

The foundation stone of the college was laid by the Late Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on May 3 rd, 1961, on a site spreading over 222 acres on the banks of the river Ganga. The main college was inaugurated by the Late Prime Minister Sri. Lal Bahadur Shastri on the 18th of April, 1965.

The institute is open to students of different nationalities and hence has developed cross cultural environment. The student population in MNNIT is diverse, fostering a cross-cultural environment with students from various countries, such as Sri Lanka , Nepal , Bangladesh , Bhutan , Mauritius , Malaysia , Iran , Yemen , Iraq , Palestine and Thailand .

Admission Process

Under Graduate Program

The students willing to study B.Tech in any branch of engineering at NIT Allahabad requires appearing in AIEEE entrance test. AIEEE is an all India engineering entrance examination which will be conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)

M.Tech Program

The admission to different M.Tech program is offered on the basis of following –

The Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degree program is offered by all the departments of NIT Allahabad. The duration of program is 4 semesters / 2 years. The students qualified in GATE – Graduate Aptitude test in Engineering is eligible to apply for M.Tech admission. GATE is an all India entrance examination which is conducted by IITs. Every year one IIT will conduct the GATE examination.

Master of Computer Applications

The Department of Computer Science of the Institute offers 60 seats for the students out of these, 30 seats are for graduate students from UP Universities and 30 seats for graduate students of other state Universities. The admission to MCA program is made on the basis of NIMCET. NIMCET is an all India entrance examination for admissions into MCA in NITs. NIMCET will conducted by NITs. Every year one NIT will conduct the NIMCET exam.

The department school of management studies MNNIT offers MBA admission to the students on the basis of CAT score and group discussion and personal interview conducted by the MNNIT officials.

How To Reach MNNIT Allahabad

Allahabad city is situated in the north part of India in the Oudh region of state of Uttar Pradesh. It is well connected with flights, rail and road transport to other parts of India. Daily trains, buses and flights are available from major cities in India.

Allahabad By Air

Allahabad has its own domestic airport named Bamrauli airport which is 15 km away from the heart of the city. Airport is connected to metros like Delhi, Kolkata and Lucknow. Airport to city taxi charge is about Rs 400. Abroad travelers need to get connection flights from Delhi or Kolkata.

Allahabad By Bus

Very good road services are available in Allahabad. UPSRTC buses give service to most of the cities in Uttar Pradesh. From Allahabad bus services are available to Delhi (650 km) and Kolkata (800 km).

Allahabad By Train

Allahabad has a major railway station in the heart of the city and is well connected to all the important cities in India
