JNCASR Ph.D Notification 2012

JNCASR, Bangalore inviting  applications for admission into the M.S./ Ph.D. Program in Science and Engineering and Integrated Ph.D. Program in Materials Science, Chemical Science and Biological Science at Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) for the Academic Year 2012 – 2013. Students who are interested can apply.

Eligibility:  For M.S./Ph.D. Program: Students who have qualified in NET-JRF/LS under CSIR/UGC fellowship schemes or DBT/ICMR - JRF or GATE / JEST / INSPIRE/ any other equivalent national level examinations are eligible to apply. For Integrated Ph.D. Program:  Materials Science: Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science.  Those with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with an aptitude towards scientific research will also be considered. Candidates are expected to have sound knowledge in the fundamentals of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.  Chemical Science: Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science with Chemistry as a major and mathematics as a subject at least up to PUC (10+2 level).  Biological Sciences:  (a) Evolutionary and Organismal Biology: Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics. Those with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with an aptitude towards scientific research will also be considered. (b) Molecular Biology and Genetics: Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science. For all the above Int. Ph.D. programs, candidates should have a minimum of 55% marks at the Bachelor’s level. Those appearing for the final examination this year can also apply.
