UPSC Combined Medical Examination 2012



Union Public Service Commission Conducting a  combined examination for recruitment to the services and posts mentioned below will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on the 17th June, 2012 in accordance with the Rules published by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (Dept. of Health) in the Gazette of India. UPSC Combined Medical Examination 2012

1. Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways: 250posts

2. Assistant Medical Officer in Indian Ordnance Factories Health Service: 66posts

3. Junior Scale Posts in Central Health Services: 150posts

4. Medical Officers in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi: 204posts

5. General Duty Medical Officer in New Delhi Municipal Council: 32posts


Qualification: For admission to the examination a candidate should have passed the written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S. Examination


Fee: Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) and all female candidates and Candidates belonging to SC/ST/physically handicapped Categories are exempted from Payment of fee. No fee exemption is, however, available to OBC Candidates and they are required to pay the prescribed Fee in full


Scheme of Examination: The examination shall be conducted according to the following plan:


Part-I: written examination - (500 marks) .The candidates will take the written examination in two Papers, each Paper carrying a maximum of 250 marks. Each Paper will be of two hours duration


Part-II: Personality Test: (100 Marks): Personality test carrying 100 marks of such of the candidates who qualify on the results of the written examination.


Written Examination: The components and syllabus of two Papers and the weightage to different components in the two papers are given below:
Paper I: (Code No. 1), Maximum Marks: 250 (a) General Ability: 30 questions (b) General Medicine: 70 questions(c) Paediatrics: 20 questions
Paper II: (Code No. 2), maximum Marks: 250 (a) Surgery: 40 questions, (b) Gynaecology: & Obstetrics: 40 questions & (c) Preventive & Social: 40 questions Medicine
