Ph.D programmes in the following departments
1. Civil Engineering 2. Mechanical Engineering 3. Electrical Engineering 4. Electronics & Communication Engg 5. Computer Science and Engineering 6. Physics 7. Chemistry 8. Mathematics 9. Humanities & Social Sciences Qualification: For Ph.D. : (i) M.E/M. Tech degree or equivalent in an appropriate area with minimum CPI of 6.5 in 10 point scale (60% marks) OR (ii) B.E/B. Tech with an excellent academic record and with CPI of at least 8 in 10 point scale (70% marks) for admission in Engineering Deptts OR (iii) M.Sc. in Science with relevant discipline with first class or a minimum of CPI 6.5 in 10 point scale (60% marks) or equivalent for admission in Science deptts OR (iv) M.A. with a minimum of CPI 6.0 in 10 point scale (55% marks) or equivalent for admission in Humanities and Social Science Deptt.
MSc programmes in the following departments
1. Mathematics 2. Physics 3. Chemistry Qualification For M. Sc :
Bachelor’s degree in Science with at least 50% marks or 5.5 in CPI/CGPA (with honours) in Chemistry.
The students whose qualifying results are awaited are also eligible to apply.
The candidates having M. Sc. Degree in Environmental Science and other areas related with chemistry, biochemistry and chemical technology may also be eligible for applying Ph. D programme in the Department of Chemistry. Fee :
The Filled up Application Form must be accompanied with an Application Fee of Rs.500/- (for General/OBC)
OR
Rs.300/- (for SC/ST) in the form of crossed Demand Draft in favour of Director, N.I.T. Silchar, cashable at S.B.I., NIT Silchar, otherwise, the application form will be treated as cancelled.
How to apply: Application form complete in all respects should reach the Heads of the respective Deptts,N.I.T. Silchar, within 4th July, 2012 by super-scribing
“Application for admission into ……. programme under ___ Dept”, on the envelope.
