Departments:  • Civil and Environmental Engineering • Computer Science and Engineering • Electrical Engineering • Mechanical Engineering • Chemistry, Mathematics • Physics • Humanities and Social Sciences • Inter-Disciplinary Research Eligibility: In all the disciplines, the upper age limit is 28 years (BTech / B.E./ M.Sc. / MA / MCA / MBA) and 32 years (M.Tech / ME / MS / M.Phil) and is applicable only for candidates applying in regular and full time category (Institute Fellows) Upper age is relaxed up to 05 years in case of candidate belonging to SC / ST / Women / PH / OBC applicants For admission to the Ph.D. program in Engineering Dept, a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria Candidates having M.Tech/M.E. degree in Engineering/Technology, with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology (from any Institute other than IITs) in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 8.0 or 75% of marks Bachelor’s degree from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 7.0 Master’s degree in Science in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 7.5 or 70% For admission to the Ph.D. program in Science departments, a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria M.Phil or Master’s degree in Science in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% of marks Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% of Marks Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 7.0 Bachelor’s degree in a related area in Engineering/Technology (from any Institute other than IITs/IISc) in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 8.0 or 75% of marks For admission to the Ph.D. Program in the department of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS), a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria M.Phil or Master’s degree in Arts/Commerce/Science in a relevant area with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Design in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% marks Bachelor’s degree from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 7.0 Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology (from any Institute other than IITs / IISc) in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 7.5 or 80% marks Selection Process: The Institute reserves to call a limited number of candidates for written test or / and interview, based on performance in GATE / NET, grades / marks in the qualifying examination How to Apply: Application forms can be downloaded from website www.iitp.ac.in and can also be obtained from the Assistant Registrar, Indian Institute of Technology Patna, Patliputra Colony, Patna-800013, Bihar, on or before 08th October, 2012 by ordinary post or in person Filled in application forms complete with attested copies of mark sheets / certificates and a DD for Rs. 300/- for General / OBC candidates and Rs 150/- for SC / ST / PD candidates drawn in any nationalized bank and payable at Patna in favour of IIT Patna should be sent to  The Assistant Registrar (Academic),  Indian Institute of Technology Patna,  Patliputra Colony, Patna-800013, Bihar,  to reach on or before 17th October, 2012 Last Date for Submission of Application Forms: 17/10/2012 For more details Click here
