Programs: • Master of Arts / Science in Population Studies (M.A. / M.Sc.) • Master of Population Studies • Master of Philosophy in Population Studies • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Population Studies Eligibility: 1. Master of Arts / Science in Population Studies (MA / M.Sc.): Intake: 50 Duration: Two years Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with at least 55% of marks or equivalent grade. Preference shall be given to candidates holding a bachelor’s degree in Math/Stat/Eco or any social science subject. Selection Process: On the basis of a common entrance test, personal interview, and academic merits. Last Date for Submission of Application Forms: 02/07/2012 2. Master of Population Studies: Intake: 50 Duration: One year Master's degree from a recognized university with at least 55% of marks or equivalent grade in Math/ Stat/Eco or any Social Science subject. Selection Process: On the basis of a common entrance test, personal interview, and academic merits. Last Date for Submission of Application Forms: 02/07/2012 3. Master of Philosophy in Population Studies: Intake: 50 Duration: One year Master in Population Studies / M.A / M.Sc. in Demography from a recognized university with at least 55 per cent of marks or equivalent. Selection Process: On the basis of written test, personal interview and academic merits. Last Date for Submission of Application Forms: 02/07/2012 4. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Population Studies: Intake: 30 Duration: Three years to a maximum of seven years M.Phil or Master's degree in Population Studies of a recognized university with at least 55% of marks. Selection Process: On the basis of a written test on Research Methodology, personal interview and academic merits. Last Date for Submission of Application Forms: 31/07/2012 5. Diploma in Population Studies: Intake: 100 Duration: One year to a maximum of three years. A graduate degree or equivalent from recognized Indian/Foreign universities. Selection Process: On merit basis Last Date for Submission of Application Forms: 01/08/2012 6. Master of Population Studies: Intake: 100 Duration: Two to four years Master’s degree in any social science subject/ Health/Math/Stat or allied subjects from recognized Indian/Foreign universities Selection Process: On merit basis Last Date for Submission of Application Forms: 01/08/2012 Government of India Fellowships @ Rs. 16,000/- per month for 1st and 2nd years and Rs. 18,000/- per month for 3rd year respectively available for the Indian students who have qualified NET for Lectureship only in population or its inter-disciplinary subjects conducted by the UGC. Such Ph.D. fellowship also carries a contingency grant of ' 10,000/- per year for the first two years and Rs. 20,500/- for the third year. However the candidates, without NET qualification shall be given fellowship @ Rs. 12,000/- per month for the 1st and 2nd years, and Rs. 14,000/- per month for the 3rd year, with a contingency grant of ' 10,000/- per year.
